Attempt 02: Building A 3D Projection Pyramid. SUCCESSFUL

The first thing I did was make better measurements. Creating more templates to test them out on and finally settling on the ones shown below. ( 2cm, 18cm, 14cm). I also made a small sketch of how the individual pieces should hopefully arrange once cut out in order to create the funnel effect the structure needs to have in order to accurately reflect the image. When it sits on the screen it needs to have enough surface space on the face to show an entire image/video and be raised enough to capture it all as if too flat is hard to look at and ineffective.

I made a template to use as the plastic sheet material I settled on using came with a peel of layer, allowing me to draw around the template. The clear plastic sheets I used came in large rolls and are partially rubber like. They are also very easy to cut with scissors and ideal for small solid plastic structures (or at least the ones I want to make. Sturdiness could be an issue if I make a particularity large pyramid).

After cutting them out I arranged them as I did in my sketch and removed the blue plastic sheets on either side that protect the plastic. Using some tape I attached the pieces on both sides to secure it enough.

It worked really well. However the last step to this process is to test it out and see whether or not it accurately projects and if the effect seems 3D dimensional enough. If it works it’ll dramatically transform the way I can present my work, if not I’ll have to find another way of presenting in a 3 dimensional way.
